A Place for Everyone: Easy Accessible Parking on Main Street

Ever wished parking on Main Street was just a little bit easier? We’ve been thinking about that a lot, because a good meal should start the moment you arrive, not after a stressful search for parking.

Here at the Waynesville Main Street Diner, we think of our customers as neighbors and family. That’s why we’ve always made sure our hospitality starts before you even walk through the door. We want to make every part of your visit, from parking your car to that first sip of coffee, as easy and comfortable as possible.

Making Your Visit Easier, Right From the Start

We’ve put a lot of thought into our parking to ensure it’s safe and convenient for everyone. Here are a few things we hope make your visit that much better:

A Clear Path to Our Front Door

There’s parking on the back street of downtown Waynesville with a walkway to our door.

Other places to park to access Downtown Waynesville, North Carolina:

Courthouse Parking Garage: This is a local favorite and a hidden gem for visitors. Located at 143 Branner Avenue, this multi-level garage is behind the historic courthouse. It offers easy access to the north end of Main Street’s shops and restaurants, as well as the Frog Level district. Pro Tip: Head to the top level of the parking deck for a stunning panoramic view of Waynesville and the surrounding mountains!

Miller Street Lots: As you head south on Main Street, turn right onto Miller Street. You’ll find public parking lots on both sides of the road. These lots are centrally located, making them a perfect starting point for exploring the middle of Main Street. Please drive carefully here, as it’s a one-way street with plenty of foot traffic.

Haywood Street Lot: Across from the Miller Street lots, you can find another public parking area accessible from North Haywood Street. A major convenience of this lot is that it also features public restrooms and an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station.

Church & Haywood Street Lot: This is one of the newer public lots, located at the corner of Church Street and North Haywood Street, offering even more options for visitors.

On-Street Parking

  • Main Street: You can find parallel parking spots directly on North and South Main Street. These are ideal for quick stops and offer the most direct access to the storefronts. Be mindful of any posted time limits.
  • Wall Street: Running parallel to Main Street, Wall Street offers numerous free parking spaces. It’s just a short, pleasant walk over to the main thoroughfare. Just be sure to check the signage to ensure you aren’t in a “Loading Zone” or a spot reserved for residents.

Why This Matters to Us

Being a part of the Waynesville community is a privilege, and with it comes a responsibility to serve all of our neighbors. For us, providing accessible parking is a simple way of saying “thank you” and “you are welcome here.” It’s about:

  • Welcoming everyone, no matter their mobility.
  • Supporting our seniors and making sure they always have a place here.
  • Making a family meal out completely stress-free.

We’ve Saved a Spot for You

Ultimately, these features are about one thing: you. We want you to think of the Waynesville Main Street Diner as your home away from home—a place where you’re always looked after.

So please, come on down to Main Street. We’ve saved a spot for you, both in our parking lot and at our tables. We can’t wait to see you!
